Tang Jie-Ee Wei fall short in Denmark Open semi-finals

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s hopes of seeing mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei reach the Denmark Open final were dashed after they fell to China’s Jiang Zhenbang-Wei Yaxin on Saturday (Oct 18).

Tang Jie-Ee Wei, Malaysia’s sole representatives in the semi-finals at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense, went down fighting 17-21, 21-18, 18-21 to the top seeds after a gruelling 65-minute battle.

The defeat marked the Malaysians’ second consecutive loss to the Chinese pair, having also fallen to them in the semi-finals of the Japan Open in September.
